Who doesn’t love a great dupe? Especially one that will save you over $1000 and give you the look that inspired you in the first place. This floor mirror dupe was so satisfying to make and I love how it came  out.

Time for a Refresh

I always go a bit overboard with my Christmas decorating. Once it’s over though and everything is finally put away, I am ready for some deep cleaning, organizing, decorating and craft projects.

I have had a pretty basic floor mirror near our front door for over a year. It was supposed to be a mirror to hang on the door in the guest room but, they sent me the wrong mirror and somehow it ended up there. I’ve always wanted to make it look more finished but I just couldn’t decide what I wanted.

Before the Refresh!

As I was browsing through Pinterest one day I came across a mirror that I loved and I thought this would be perfect in my living room. I had my inspiration and was fairly certain I could come up with a dupe for this $1400.00 gorgeous floor mirror.

My inspiration

Supplies

To complete this project you will need a mirror, 2 inch half round wood circles, alcohol, E6000, Super Glue and a straight-edge.

Of course I already had my mirror so I just needed the half round wood balls. I decided on the 2 inch size I found on Amazon and could hardly wait to get started.
I placed my mirror on my dining room table with plastic underneath to protect my table. The first thing I did was to lay out my half circles to get an idea of how I wanted it and to make sure I measured correctly. Then I cleaned the mirror well and wiped the area where I was going to be gluing with alcohol.

Adjustment Needed

I used E6000 adhesive to glue the pieces on and realized very quickly this wasn’t working. My circles seemed to hold for a few seconds then fall off. Well darn! So I came up with using super glue along with the E6000 and that did the trick.

E6000 and Super Glue for the Win!

I had to hold each one down for a few seconds until the super glue set but, it worked like a charm! I waited 24 hours so it was completely dry. If you want to paint, now would be a good time. I
was thrilled with how this dupe turned out. It really gave my mirror and living room an upgrade.

Decorative mirror dupe!

So pleased with the results!

I would love to hear if you liked this idea and especially if you try it yourself.
